Bethel Cemetery, by Frances Miers Muller
Most of these photos were taken in the late 1990s. Although I do have a few that were taken in the 1980s and 1950s. These are of the Shrader and Tarpley families. George Hammond Shrader and family arrived in Collin County about 1874, after staying about three years in Arkansas. Their original home was in the area of Manchester in Coffee County, Tennessee. The oldest of their children, John Burr Shrader, remained in Tennessee. One of John Burr's daughters did come to Frisco in the 1890s and she and her husband are buried here. One son, Fountain Pitt Shrader, was born while in Arkansas, and the last of their twelve children, Daniel Booker Shrader, was born after arriving in Collin County. Several of their children and grandchildren are buried here in Bethel and several others are buried in other cemeteries in Collin County. At least two others are buried at Restland in Dallas.
More complete explanations will be with the individual photos of the gravestones.
